TextCall
How to make a TextCall:
Note: You must have international text message ability from your cellphone, and cell carrier while in another country. Check with your cell carrier before travel. Nextel phones will not allow text messages outside the US and will not work with our system. |

|
Step 1
Instead of words or letters, you will use numbers when sending a text message to our system. Create a new text message using your mobile phone. Address the message to this international account code, 011447786205153. If this first code does not work after you send your first message, then use a 001 in front of the code instead of 011. Sorry to make you try several codes. The phone companies that cover these services worldwide have not yet set the same standards. I think we all agree life will be easier when they do.
Step 2
In the body of the text message, or subject, enter your 10 digit Cellular International account number. (Your account number can be found by logging into you account at: https://www.Cellular International/account/index.cfm).
Login, using your email and password. Your account ID is the 10 digit number in bold print. If your nickname is in that field, click on the view my calls link.
Lastly, if you still cannot find it, refer to our email signup instructions page we sent to you when you signed up for this service. Or, call customer service at 1-800-506-0506. Outside the US Call 214-777-7444.
After you enter the information above, hit send. In a few seconds after the text message is sent, depending on the country you are calling from, our system will call you back.
When you answer, you will be prompted to dial the number you wish to call. The call is then connected to the destination number.
(The destination number must be entered as if you were calling from the U.S.)
Example:
International phone numbers dial: 011 + country code + city code + destination number.
US phone numbers: 1+ area code + number.
*Your mobile phone carrier may charge a fee to initiate a text message.
TIP: Save this text message and use it over again to make your calls. It saves time.
NOTE: Before you visit another country, you may want to investigate alternative uses to avoid roaming charges. Roaming charges are billed to your existing cellular provider, ie Cingular, T-Mobile, etc., from the country that you visit. Since roaming charges can be between $.69 and $3.49 per minute while in another country, you may want to check with your cellular company about a solution. If they have no solutions, here is the most popular of solutions our customers have mentioned.
* Depending on what country you go to, and how long you stay, our customers have most often bought a cheap prepaid phone for their visit. Buying an expensive phone you can use everywhere in the world, that is GSM and 'unlocked' for SIM cards, is a lot of work. You can find these prepaid phones in other countries at airports and small stores and are purchased for cash. They give you a phone, a charger, and so many minutes for how much you pay. The reason customers buy these phones is that they can make low cost phone calls within that country without roaming charges. Cellular International comes in when you then want to make an international call, which again is very expensive.
* Cellular International does not recommend these items, or the purchase of either. Also, we do not solicit these items for your use. We simply are passing on the information given to us by our customers to help you.
