Cellular International TextCall Instructions

TextCall Instructions

How to make a TextCall:

Note: First, you must have a GSM phone to use outside of the US, or it will not work to make calls or a text message. You must have international text message ability from your cellphone carrier while in another country. Check with your cell carrier before travel or in the country you purchase the phone. Nextel phones will not allow text messages outside the US and will not work with our system.

CELLULAR INTERNATIONAL IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR LOCAL ROAMING CHARGES FROM YOUR CELLULAR CARRIER. SEE NOTE BELOW

Step 1

Instead of words or letters, you will use numbers when sending a text message to our system. Create a new text message using your cellphone, PDA or similar device. Address the message using this international account code in one of the forms below depending on what country or cell carrier you are with. The code is the same. Using 011,001, or + in front of the code will allow you to make the call.

011447786205153

001447786205153

+447786205153

If this first code does not work after you send your first message, then use another. We are sorry for the inconvenience. The phone companies that cover these services worldwide have not yet set the same standards. I think we all agree life will be easier when they do.

Step 2

In the body of the text message, or subject, enter your 10 digit Cellular International account number. (Your account number can be found by logging into you account at: https://www.Cellular International/account/index.cfm). Login, using your email and password. Your account ID is the 10 digit number in bold print. If your nickname is in that field, click on the view my calls link. Lastly, if you still cannot find it, refer to our email signup instructions page we sent to you when you signed up for this service. Or, call customer service at 1-800-506-0506. Outside the US Call 214-777-7444.

After you enter the information above, hit send. In a few seconds after the text message is sent, depending on the country you are calling from, our system will call you back. When you answer, you will be prompted to dial the number you wish to call. The call is then connected to the destination number. (The destination number must be entered as if you were calling from the U.S.)

Example:

International phone numbers dial: 011 + country code + city code + destination number.

US phone numbers: 1+ area code + number.

*Your mobile phone carrier may charge a fee to initiate a text message.

TIP: Save this text message and use it over again to make your calls. It saves time.

NOTECellular International is not responsible for the roaming charges your cellular carrier may charge you to use your phone while in another country. TextCall will not replace or remove those charges. Before you visit another country first you must have a GSM compatible phone. If you do not, it will not work outside the US. Check with your cellphone carrier. Next, you may want to investigate alternative uses to avoid roaming charges. Roaming charges are billed to your existing cellular provider, AT&T, T-Mobile, etc., from the country that you visit. Since roaming charges can be between $.99 and $3.99 per minute while in another country, you may want to check with your cellular company about a solution.

* Depending on what country you go to, and how long you stay, our customers have most often purchase very inexpensive prepaid phone for their visit. Buying an expensive phone you can use everywhere in the world, that is GSM and 'unlocked' for SIM cards, can be complicated for most customers, but also a good solution for certain travel plans. When in another country, you can find these inexpensive prepaid phones at airports and small stores and purchase them for cash. With your purchase you receive a phone, a charger, and so many minutes for how much you pay. The reason customers buy these phones is so they can make low cost international phone calls within that country without roaming charges. Then using this phone to make an international call with Cellular International, you save twice.

* Cellular International does not recommend these items, or the purchase of either. Also, we do not solicit these items for your use. We simply are passing on the information given to us by our customers to help you.
