International Calling Using SIM Cards
SIM cards, or Subscriber Identity Module, give a customer a unique way to select the country or countries that they want to call using a variety of international calling plans. A customer has the ability to not only price each country, but to purchase a card to use in the country they travel to, or a host of countries they wish to call from. The benefit is that you become a local number and are not charged ‘Roaming Charges’.
What is roaming? To give you an example, years ago in the U.S., when you traveled to another city or state, you paid high roaming charges. Now, with a national calling plan, you pay the same minutes no mater what state your travel to. The same applies now if you take your US cellphone to another country and try to make an international call. You can pay from $1.99 to $4.99 per minute to make a call. To avoid these 'Roaming Charges', buy an 'unlocked' phone, or see if your current phone is unlocked, and buy a SIM card for that phone. Then use Cellular International to make the international calls. The SIM card is the little card that goes into our phones to let the cell network know who we are.
