International Roaming Costs Using Your Current Cell Phone Company

What is roaming? Here is an example. Years ago in the U.S., when you traveled to another city or state, you paid high roaming charges billed to you on your cellphone bill. Currently many cellphone companies offer a national calling plan, and you pay the same minutes no mater what state your travel to. The same applies now if you take your US cellphone to another country. You can pay from $1.99 to $4.99 per minute to make an international call or receive a call. To avoid these 'Roaming Charges' you have two choices. One, buy an inexpensive prepaid phone in the country you visit to avoid the roaming charges. This is because you now have a local phone. Your phone and the phone you are calling are a live phone call, not speaking through a PC. Also you may select the country you are calling from and the country you are calling to and get the rate.
